Rodeo Results™ Brings Live Scores to the Palm of Your Hand

Austin, Texas, November 13, 2015 – Rodeo Results™, a mobile application that brings live rodeo scores in the palm of your hand, today announced a partnership with The World Series Team Roping (WSTR), providers of the richest and one of most prestigious cowboy competitions in the world. As strategic partners, World Series Team Roping will officially launch the Rodeo Results™ mobile app to their network on December 7, 2015.

“Live rodeo scores will soon be just a tap away,” said Michael Willoughby, founder of Rodeo Results™. “Our team has deep roots in the rodeo community and we’re proud to partner with World Series Team Roping. Team roping is a recreational stand alone sport that we all love and WSTR fans should no longer have to wait for delayed results. With Rodeo Results™ there is no more searching of multiple sources to find out who’s on the leaderboard.”

Smartphone technology has allowed fans and athletes alike to track a variety of sports results, news, and statistics in a single click. Rodeos and cowboy events, however, which serve as an integral part of Western-American culture, have had limited options for real-time results. Knowing how important these events are, Willoughby’s goal in creating Rodeo Results™ and partnering with World Series Team Roping was to improve the experience for everyone involved.

Rodeo Results™ uses new, innovative software to provide real-time results, stats, data, events and contestant information in one place. World Series Team Roping will make the application available to its members on its website and within its social media network. The application will also be available for download on both Apple and Android platforms.

“Rodeo Results™ serves as the only app of its kind to deliver live rodeo scoring updates to a mobile device,” said Willoughby. Whether the user is at a specific World Series Team Roping event or not, fans can follow all of their favorite athletes, events, scores, and standings in one place.

“Sports are a worldwide obsession,” said Willoughby, who got the idea for Rodeo Results™ after watching his daughter Barrel Race in 2014. “Many people love to watch and some love to play. Mobile apps have been created for those who do both—from tracking Major League Baseball and NFL to amateur and professional sporting associations. Bringing this type of technology to cowboy competitions like World Series Team Roping was the natural next step.”

Willoughby tested his concept at the Texas Junior High Finals in March of 2015 and spent the remaining portion of the year improving the experience by working with beta users across the rodeo community. World Series Team Roping has a reputation for innovation and the partnership with Rodeo Results™ marks the first time that team ropers can download the app via the App Store or Google Play to the action happening in South Point Arena. To follow favorite athletes/contestants, points/earnings, events, and scores in real-time and to receive push notifications, users have an opportunity to purchase the app for $7.99 a year. Rodeo Results™ also provides athletes the ability to build a unique profile, track their history, and interact across a variety of social media platforms.

“Rodeo Results™ looks for reputable organizations like World Series Team Roping to get scores into the hands of the best fans in the world in order make rodeos more fun and engaging,” said Willoughby. Rodeo Results™ has partners in Texas, Oklahoma, Montana, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, South Dakota, and more. The app has also created partners and fans as far away as Brazil. Rodeo Results software is free for rodeo organizations to use.

Because the Rodeo Results™ team cares about the communities that rodeos serve, $1.00 per paid app download goes back to an association and $0.50 of each paid app download goes toward a scholarship fund for contestants. “Rodeo Results™ is on a mission to change the way rodeos and all cowboy events track results, while giving back to the participating associations and individuals along the way,” said Willoughby.
